A Bientot to my blog!

My Friends,

Bon journee! My name is Chef Jaques de la Bonchance, but my friends call me Lucky, and you are my friend, so you may call me Lucky. I was a simple chef de cuisine in the 12ieme arrendissement of Paris, but I am now living in America where I soon hope to open my own petit bistro.

I have been experimenting with new recipes for the bistro. Today, for your ocular consumption, I present a gastronomique sensation. For the delight of your senses and in dedication to flights of your fancy, I present to you the first entry in a masterclass of simple dishes that anyone can make. Yes, that's right, you don't have to be a Paris-trained chef such as me to create this seemingly complex dish.

As a chef, I will be happy to tell you how I make my dishes. However, I usually do not measure my ingredients, so please, feel free to experiment with these recipes.

Also, I have a friend who writes a food blog; she is the person who suggested me to write this blog. She and I have agreed to have a petit competition between us to see who is dishes are better. Usually many women enjoy my cooking, so we will see if she thinks she can create beautiful creations such as mine.

I call this dish, "A Votre Plaisir":

1) You need a pork chop, some fresh corn, the kale, des tomates, avocado, some lemon, soy sauce, and spices.

2) Prepare the pork chops first - create a beautiful paste of olive oil, Worcester sauce, cumin, pepper, garlic salt, and whatever other spices you may find that complement pork. Make sure the pork is at room temperature, cover them in the paste, and let them marinate for a few hours.

3) Partially shuck the corn, remove the hairs, cover them back up with the corn husk, and soak them in water for a few hours.

4) We will make a simple kale salad for the side complement. Chop your kale, and then marinate it in a sauce of fresh lemon juice (50%), soy sauce (50%), and olive oil (20%). This will cook the kale in a few hours. Place this in a large glass bowl and into the frigo.

5) After a few hours, you may cook the pork chops and corn over a grill. Cook the chops for ~8 minutes direct heat and 4 minutes indirect heat (depend on thickness of chop). Corn can cook on same grill. Finish salad with tomates, avocado, and other vegetables.

6) Beautifully place all on a plate, and serve! I apologize for my plates - I left my wonderful plates in France, so I find these in the WalMart!

It's so easy! Please enjoy.

Your Friend,

- Jaques
